Mr. Himadrish Suwan, Chairperson, Confederation of Young Leaders and Director General, Indian Institute of Governance and Leadership called on the President of Malta, H.E Mr. George Vella during his visit to Malta from 01 to 05 May 2023 at the Sant’ Anton Palace in Valletta, the official residence of the President of the Republic of Malta.

H.E President welcomed this first-ever visit to Malta by Himadrish Suwan and expressed his satisfaction at this development in strengthening people-to-people relations. The two agreed that there is ample room for establishing and consolidating contacts in several sectors, mentioning youth exchanges, cultural cooperation, trade, education, tourism, ICT, and engineering, among others, between India and Malta. Chairperson presented H.E. The President of Malta with a copy of the publication titled “Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Vision for Swachh Bharat: Transforming Lives, Building New India” published by the Confederation of Young Leaders, New Delhi.

During his visit, Himadrish Suwan also called on H.E Ms. Miriam Dalli, Minister for Environment, Energy and Enterprise of Malta; H.E Mr. Clayton Bartolo, Minister for Tourism and Consumers Protection of Malta, H.E Mr. Clint Camilleri, Minister for Gozo, Government of Malta; H.E Mrs. Gloria Gangte, Indian High Commissioner to Malta; H.E Mr. Joseph Muscat, former Prime Minister of Malta; Mr. Chris Vassallo Cesareo, President of The Malta Chamber; Mr. David Xuereb, Chairperson of the Malta Council for Economic and Social Development (MCESD); Ms. Catherine Tabone, Chief Executive Officer, Valletta Cultural Agency; Mr. Matthew Caruana, Chief Executive Officer, JA Malta Foundation; Mr. Omar Farrugia, Member of Parliament of Malta and Former Mayor of Mqabba; Prof Joachim James Calleja, Principal & CEO, the Malta College of Arts, Science and Technology (MCAST) and Mrs. Miriam Teuma, Chief Executive Officer, National Youth Agency of Malta (AGENZIJA ZGHAZAGH).

In addition to courtesy meetings, Himadrish Suwan interacted with members of the Indian diaspora, including the President of the Indian Association of Malta, Mr. Subhas Roy and took part in cultural/yoga activities in the country.
