Confederation of Young Leaders and the Indian Institute of Governance and Leadership hosted H.E Mr. Juan Angulo, Chile’s Ambassador to India over an interactive session on Chile and India’s vision for a shared future which encouraged the idea of fostering the India-Chile development partnership on a global forum.

Ambassador spoke about the beauty of Chile that lies in its cultural and agro-food industry and acknowledged the incessant progress of India globally. India and Chile have been supporting each other to obtain permanent membership at the UNSC and will continue to do so. He appreciated the potential of the Indian youth and entrepreneurs in considerations of global start-ups and reflected on looking forward to having more professionally involved entrepreneurial relations in the future. He congratulated India for showcasing the indigenous capacities through a successful vaccination campaign and appreciated India’s efforts in tackling cross-border conflicts and terrorism.

Ambassador approached a thought-way of new dimensions to nurture the India-Chile relations through investments for a cause, automotive trade, and enhancing of tourism in both nations. Speaking about the impact of soft power on Chile through Yoga and Indian professed lifestyle and the interest of the Indian youth in Latin-American literature and culture, the Ambassador stated that he looks forward to an exchange of ideas and potential between the youth of both the nations.

On the other hand, Chairman of the Confederation of Young Leaders (CYL), Mr.Himadrish Suwan conveyed his warm appreciation for Chile for sharing India’s concerns over the threat of international terrorism and for condemning the acts of cross-border terrorism that India has suffered. Both countries cooperate extensively in multilateral fora and share similar views on the expansion and reforms of the UNSC, added Suwan.

Chairman Suwan announced, “under the CYL-led the Indian Institute of Governance and Leadership (IIGL), we would offer 21 fully-funded scholarships to our friends from Chile who could pursue our online academic programs in the areas of International Affairs, Government Studies and the Indian Foreign Policy.”
