Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday launched India’s vaccination drive against the novel coronavirus via video conferencing. Billed as the world’s largest vaccination program, covering the entire length and breadth of the country, the drive aims to first inoculate millions of its healthcare and frontline workers and reach an estimated 3 crore people by the end of its first phase.
Confederation of Young Leaders top leadership lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership and scientists for the successful roll-out of the Covid-19 vaccine. Reacting to the launch of India’s vaccination drive, Confederation of Young Leaders, Chairman, Himadrish Suwan, said “The way India has stood firm & fought Covid under the strong leadership of PM Narendra Modiji, is a matter of pride for every Indian. With the launch of the world’s largest vaccine drive by the PM today, India is on the way to realize सर्वे सन्तु निरामयाः.On behalf of more than 45000 members, I convey our heartfelt gratitude to the Government, Scientist, Doctors, and Frontline Workers”
On the other hand, President of the Confederation of Young Leaders and Grandson of India’s former PM Lal Bahadur Shastri, Sameep Shastri, said” Today marks a momentous day in the history of the nation as our Prime Minister launches the world’s largest vaccine drive to combat the pandemic the war against COVID-19. He is leading the country from the front, ensuring health services to all when they need it the most. Grateful to everyone associated with the mission”
Vansh Saluja, the Secretary-General, added “Today marks an important milestone in our fight against Covid-19 and with a digital platform to give real-time information & a helpline to address queries, India embarks on largest vaccine drive powered by Jan Bhagidari. CYL stands shoulder to shoulder with the Government of India”
The vaccination program in the country will use Co-WIN (Covid Vaccine Intelligence Work), an online digital platform developed by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, which will facilitate real-time information of vaccine stocks, storage temperature and individualized tracking of beneficiaries for COVID-19 vaccine. This digital platform will assist program managers across all levels while conducting vaccination sessions.
A dedicated 24×7 call centre – 1075 – has also been established for addressing the queries related to Covid-19 pandemic, vaccine rollout and the Co-WIN software. The full initial procurement amount of 1.65 crore doses of Covishield and Covaxin vaccines against Covid-19 have been allocated to all States/UTs in the proportion of Health Care Workers database, Union Health Ministry stated.
