On June 30, 2021, Zambia’s High Commissioner to India, H.E Mrs. Judith K.K.Kan’goma Kapijimpanga held a virtual dialogue with the Confederation of Young Leaders (CYL) and the Indian Institute of Governance and Leadership (IIGL) on Fostering People to People and Cultural Exchange Mechanism between India and Zambia.

H.E Mrs. Judith K.K.Kan’goma Kapijimpanga shared her views on Zambia-India relations, the two countries’ cooperation in bilateral and multilateral areas, and other topics of mutual interests.

While speaking at the virtual meeting, Zambia’s top diplomat in India, H.E Mrs. Judith K.K.Kan’goma Kapijimpanga, said, “We would very soon have a direct flight between Zambia and India operated by the Zambian airways with twice a week to Delhi, Mumbai, and later to Kolkata.”

“We send a lot of Africans to study in India, however, Africans are unable to secure a paying job in India. Even if my son wants to marry an Indian, he can’t. However, an Indian can easily marry a Zambian. We need to bridge this gap.”, added Zambian High Commissioner to India.

While speaking at the virtual meeting, Chairman of the Confederation of Young Leaders, Mr. Himadrish Suwan reiterated his condolences on the unfortunate passing away of H.E Dr. Kenneth Kaunda, Zambia’s founding president and a champion of African nationalism, and said “On behalf of the entire CYL family and on my own behalf, I would like to take this opportunity to once again convey to Your Excellency, and through you to the friendly Zambian people, my deepest condolences on the unfortunate passing away of His Excellency Dr. Kenneth Kaunda, Zambia’s founding president and a champion of African nationalism. A champion of African freedom, he will continue to be a source of inspiration for generations to come.”

Further, Mr. Himadrish Suwan added, ” May the energy of Victoria Falls and the Himalayas continue to inspire us as we forge new bonds of friendship.”
